Please have a fun, relaxing break! We cannot wait to hear all about the amazing activities and/or trips that so many families have planned! If your child would like to share some photos from the break, feel free to print them off or send them in an e-mail to their homeroom teacher. We will take the week after spring break to share all of our travel experiences. AND…When the kids tell you they are bored over the two week break, feel free to make them read or study math facts!
Hopefully you child has come home excited about the many fun lessons that Ms. Miller has been leading within the classroom. Ms. Miller will slowly be taking on more and more responsibility within the classroom, under our supervision, until she is planning and teaching two full weeks on her own. After these two weeks, she will slowly hand the class back over to us.
What To Expect 4th Quarter
Once we return from spring break the 4th quarter will be under way. In math, we will pick up with fractions and review for the ASPIRE Test. In science, we will continue with animal classification and move into animal adaptations. In writing, we will continue with reflective narratives and then complete a poetry unit. We will wrap up 3rd grade social studies by learning the history of Wilmette through a variety of activities and some walking field trips. In religion, we will begin Unit Four, Jesus Suffered and Died for Us. This Unit will deepen students understanding of Jesus’ passion, death and resurrection.
