Archdiocesan schools admit students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded to or made available to students in these schools.

Archdiocesan schools do not discriminate on the basis of gender, race, color, or national and ethnic origin in administration of educational policies, loan programs, athletic or other school-administered programs. St. Francis Xavier Catholic School adheres to the policies stipulated by the Archdiocese of Chicago.

Admission to St. Francis Xavier Catholic School is based on the availability of space and resources as well as the developmental, scholastic, and behavioral qualifications of the applicant.


Age Requirements

The following age guidelines are required for Preschool, Kindergarten and First Grade:

•  PreschoolStudents must be 3 or 4 years old on or before September 1, depending on the program.
•  KindergartenStudents must be 5 years old on or before September 1.
•  First GradeStudents must be 6 years old on or before September 1.

The following guidelines are used in student admissions:

   Among the factors considered in the admission of new students are:
•  Children from families with children already enrolled.
•  Children of Parishioners.
•  Transfer students from other Catholic schools.
•  Children of non-Parishioners.
•  Transfer students from public schools.

For the admission of a preschool, kindergarten, first grade or a transfer student, parents must present:

•  An official copy of the child's birth certificate.
•  A Baptismal Certificate (if applicable).
•  A record of compliance with local and State of Illinois health requirements.

For the admission of transfer students, parents must present the proper transfer or some appropriate credential from the school previously attended.

Transfer and health records must be sent within 10 days.

All required forms must be returned and all fee payments must be up to date at the time of registration before placement is assured.

Parents are expected to disclose with appropriate school personnel any significant confidential information, which may affect their child's educational progress. Such sharing includes, but is not limited to, any of the following: diagnostic evaluations, medications or specific family situations.

INSTRUCTIONAL FEE - $210 PER STUDENT, PER YEAR DUE August 29, 2006

The fees that are included in the above amount are textbooks, duplicated materials, periodicals, testing materials, instructional audiovisual equipment, and the Archdiocesan Service Fee.

TUITION/FEE POLICY

Tuition must be paid in full by May 15, 2007.

TUITION ASSISTANCE
•  Tuition assistance for St. Francis Xavier Parish families is available. Parish families may make application for tuition assistance by contacting the school principal.
•  Tuition assistance is awarded on the basis of need, and is granted on a yearly basis. It is renewable each year upon submission and approval of a new application.
•  Tuition assistance covers the cost of tuition only. It does not cover academic fees, athletics fees, etc.


If the need for assistance ceases, the Principal should be informed immediately.

Confidentiality is maintained at all times.

An application for tuition assistance must include a photocopy of the family's most recent year's signed Federal Income Tax Form 1040, with all schedules attached.
