Hello Families This week we greeted one another during the morning meeting with a traditional Tibetan greeting by sticking out our tongues! According to Tibetan folklore, a cruel ninth-century Tibetan king had a black tongue, so people stick out their tongues to show that they are not like him (and aren’t his reincarnation). Fun Run Our class participated in the Boosterthon Fun Run on Friday.  We had a blast running, dancing, and earning those laps!  Overall, our class raised $51.67 per a lap.  We have earned Crazy Sock Day, Crazy Hair Day, extra recess, and time to read outside. Math This week we learned mental addition strategies for larger addition problems. This week was a success!  We have moved on from learning rules, procedures, and routines to hitting the books. Math Over the past two weeks we have been working on place value of numbers up to 10,000.  We have reviewed the different forms that numbers can be written in, we have compared and ordered numbers, as well as rounded to the nearest 10 and 100.  We will be having our Chapter One math test next
