Our class has been celebrating some fun wins and achievements! Congratulations to all of the dancers participating in the Pajama Ball! Our class dance was shown several times and it was so fun to see everyone on the screen having fun!
Religion: The students brought home Chapter 18, We Come to Our Good Shepherd. The students had some good discussions on saying, “sorry” and on forgiveness.
Literacy: The students are meeting in small reading groups. They completed word work. They wrote in their journals and wrote for science this week.
Science: The students researched a penguin, highlighted information, and prepared a graphic organizer for their writing. The graphic organizer is a helpful tool as students write keywords. Then as they write their research paper they can use the keywords and form their own sentences. They completed the research papers and will bring home their penguin materials for you to see next week!
Math: The students completed the chapter on calendar and time and took the assessment. For some students this was an introduction to telling time. It would be helpful to continue learning about time at home! They were assessed on telling time to the hour and the half hour. Also, the calendar skills are the number of days in the week, months in the year, and the seasons. In our class, a student is responsible for preparing the calendar on the whiteboard for the class for the week. They are quite proficient!
