It was a wonderful week welcoming Mrs. Sullivan as our principal! A highlight of the week was St. Patrick’s day. Our class collected the most money for our sharing parish! Thank you all for your generosity. As a reward a leprechaun came in and decorated our room and also made a mess! He left behind a pot of gold on each desk. The real reward is that the class knows that people who need it will receive their gifts.
Math: The students have been practicing adding vertically and began learning how to add with regrouping. They use their math kits and have added tens and ones blocks to use for hands-on practice.
Religion: The students are continuing to learn the Stations of the Cross and attended a service virtually. The students attended Mass virtually on Friday for St. Joseph’s feast day.
Literacy: The students are learning to write opinion pieces. They are thinking about their own collections and how to judge them and write about the collection. In reading they are learning that they are the BOSS of their own reading. They need to STOP at the first sign of trouble.
Science: The students chose an animal for their animal research project. Next week they will begin their research and write notes in their graphic organizers.
