It was a great week in First Grade! Highlights included the student animal presentations and a visit from Father Paul. Please enjoy the photos from the week!
Science: The students did an excellent job presenting their animal reports! They had multiple opportunities to share their work throughout the day. They started the day by greeting Mrs. Sullivan and Mrs. Phillips. They walked around to each student and looked at the creative project and learned one fact. Some students presented their reports in the morning and some in the afternoon. The students were so complimentary with each other and the facts were fascinating. Possibly the highlight of the day was when half the class visited the other half of the class to see the projects one-one and hear some more interesting information!
Math: The students continued nonstandard measurement in math. They have thoroughly enjoyed all of the hands-on activities!
Religion: Thank you to Father Paul Shelton for visiting our class! It was a special time where the students were able to ask so many questions.
Language Arts: The students received chapter books. Please look at the blog posted on Thursday for information for helping your child choose a chapter book. They were very excited! The students worked in small guided reading groups, completed word work, and focused on comprehension of reading passages.
Photos: Nurse for the Day! Thanks to a Showcase donation one of our classmates was the nurse for the day! Thank you for the extra care for our class.
