It may be almost summer vacation, but first graders are still learning and growing! It’s unbelievable that the school year is coming to an end. We look forward to our last few days together.
Important Information: Our field day is Tuesday, June 8. Please send your child out of uniform for some fun outdoor activities! Please have your child use sunscreen, bring a water bottle and perhaps a hat.
Literacy: The students wrote amazing realistic fiction stories. They learned more about character, setting, problem, and solution as they honed their own writing. They continued word work, journal writing, and began first grade memory books.
Math: It’s still all about money! The students studied coins, what they look like, and their value.
Religion: The students are exploring the back of the religion book, which reviews what we learned throughout the year. Drum circles continued this week where we also honored our wonderful principal and assistant principal, Mrs. Sullivan and Mrs. Phillips. The students expressed their true gratitude for our caring leaders.
Science: The students completed the interactive science water notebook and are learning about the water cycle.
