Dear First Grade Families,
Due to popular demand, we have added a second mass to our Christmas Eve schedule when our First Graders will bring the Christmas scene alive for our congregation. In addition to the 3pm liturgy, First Grade students may now also sign up for the 5pm Mass on Christmas Eve. These 3pm and 5pm special Family Masses provide a lovely way for us all to begin our Christmas Eve celebration!
Visit the sign-up genius here to reserve your family’s half pew (and your child’s spot in our nativity play) for either the 3pm or the 5pm Mass on December 24th in the church. If you originally signed up for 3pm and now wish to move to 5pm, please delete your original registration and add your name to the 5pm list. Practice for the 3pm Mass takes place Wednesday, December 19th from 3:30-4:30pm and again on Saturday, December 22nd from 10:15-11:15am. Practice for the 5pm mass takes place Wednesday, December 19th from 4:45-5:30pm and again on Saturday, December 22nd from 11:30am- 12:15pm.
As previously shared, all practices are held in church. Parents do not need to stay for practice and parts will be assigned at the first practice session. The children will bring home a letter with suggestions for simple costumes and other details after the first practice.
The children are invited to bring a small gift of warmth for a child such as mittens or gloves, a hat, scarf, etc. Please bring the small gifts to one of the rehearsals. These gifts will be taken to the altar by the children during Mass and later shared with St. Thomas of Canterbury.
May your Advent continue to be a happy, holy time for you and your family!
Your Friendly Neighborhood DRE,
