The Risen Jesus helps his friends make a great catch of fish and then invites them to come and eat with him. This Easter appearance story is also a eucharistic story, Jesus’ friends recognize him in sharing the meal together. Jesus is with us in a special way when we gather together and celebrate at Mass. Our PROMISE focused on celebrating Jesus’ presence among us in Word, sacrament, and in each other. We prayed the Rosary with a class Mom and practiced for our Special Person Day when the First Graders will be leading the Mass.
This week we focused on the mechanics of writing. We continue learning about punctuation, marks, like comma and period, and capitalization of the word “I” and the first letter of a sentence. Words Their Way Word Work , Handwriting, and sight word practice continued. Children worked on a book for their moms. Independent reading is a everyday practice in our classroom.
Our objectives this week were to create and use a calendar and to use a table to solve problems about elapsed time. The class was tested on telling time, elapsed time, and using a calendar.
We completed our Unit PROPERTIES OF WATER. Children made a water cycle bracelet and were tested on the material.
