Our learning objectives this week were to tell the story of Christ’s visible departure and entry into heavenly glory, to describe the Ascension as a pledge of our glory, and to explain that although Jesus Christ has physically departed, he is still present in the Holy Spirit, We attended the all school Liturgy and prayed the Rosary together in thanksgiving after our wonderful, sunny Field Trip to Lincoln Park Zoo.
To help the students prepare for their animal report, our class continued to practice correct capitalization and end marks for sentences. Students have been learning about conducting research for their animal repots using a variety of non-fiction materials. Students learned to read and write about homophones – words that sound alike but have different spellings and meanings Words Their Way Word Work, sight word, and handwriting practice continued. Opportunities for independents reading were available daily.
Our objectives this week were to practice measuring using the standard measurement of inches and to practice addition concepts to 20.
Read ,and write about animal habitats and visit the animals at Lincoln Park Zoo.
