Easter celebrates Jesus’ Resurrection from the dead. This is the core of Christian faith – God raised Jesus, who was crucified, from the dead. Jesus’ Resurrection was a powerful event in the life of the early Christians so they recorded their experience for us. Easter is a season of joy and new life. God is always present in and around us, we can meet Jesus in Church, reading the Bible and in our classroom. We have a new desk for Jesus, with a notebook where we can write messages to Jesus. We can also sit quietly with Jesus and pray silently that we can be more like Him.
Our literature this short week consisted of stories revolving around Easter and introducing the concept of time. Words Their Way Word Work and independent reading continued.
The concept of understanding time , its sequence, its duration, and relativity were introduced.
Students observed how various objects behave in water and then predict whether other objects will sink or float.
We were fortunate to welcome two Mystery Readers this short week>
