Children recognized that God shows his love through creation and Jesus wants everyone to be happy. Jesus included everyone in his community, we want to include everyone in our classroom and community.. Our PROMISE explored what makes children happy and how they seek to bring happiness – and God’s Good News – to others, Jesus healed and forgave people, he asks us to show love today and everyday to others.
We are learning about the main character in stories. We are learning by noticing their relationships ,and noticing that characters feelings change, and so do readers voices. We discussed how to write a realistic fiction book and the children wrote a realistic fiction story. Words Their Way, sight word work, and handwriting practice continued.
The objective this week was to make and identify symmetrical shapes and lines of symmetry. Children also used patterns to solve problems’ We had a Chapter test with great results for all.
Continuing our Penguin Pocket Book activities included making A PENGUIN YEAR booklet and a mini-book PENGUIN PARTS.
Students learned about two of our Presidents, George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, using videos and completing an informational text.
