Our class confidently led SFX students in morning prayers this week .Compliments to all!! Children learned a prayer to St. Blase . “May we always be grateful for good health and may our throats always sing out your praise. Amen” Our PROMISE issue taught us that Jesus, had problems, like all of us, because he was human. We discussed the practice oof making decisions that improve a bad situation. The children explored times when they have contributed to a problem and need to ask for forgiveness.
Our class read alouds were all about 100. The targeted reading strategy for The 100th Day Project was summarizing. The children used the strategy of summarizing to understand the text and sequence the events in a story. Children also identified adjectives and the nouns they describe. The Wolf’s Chicken Stew was another 100 related book that the children wrote responses for.
Grids were introduced. The children learned to give and follow directions on a grid. Both First Grade celebrated the 100th day of school.
