3rd Grade Blog, 9-19-19
Thank you for coming out last night for the Back to School Night! It was so great to see everyone and get a chance to talk. We are all very excited about our classes this year and can’t wait to see this amazing school year play out! If your questions weren’t answered, please feel free to reach out to us.
Recently we have discussed the importance of guardian angels as well as learned the Prayer to the Guardian Angel. Students had an opportunity to draw what they believe their individual guardian angels look like. Our classes sure have some active imaginations!
Our first science unit, study of living things, will begin next week. We will take a deep look into plant and animal adaptations and traits. If you have a chance, this weekend take a nature walk and point out all the different plants and homes of different animals even within our yards and neighborhoods.
In math we have been working on place value skills and rounding. Students will have a chapter one math test coming up soon. Please check your child’s planner for an exact date.
Please encourage your child to always use their nicest and neatest handwriting, whether it is math homework, a reading response, or filling out their planner. Students know that always using our nicest handwriting will help strengthen our “patience muscle” as well as the muscles within our hands and grips.
