Third graders had an amazing Halloween at SFX! Our classrooms were filled with sports figures, inflatables, video gamers, and even a slice of pizza! Students enjoyed Halloween fun all day long with a special Would You Rather writing assignment, Halloween themed math games, Jack-O-Lantern word work, and a viewing of It’s The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown. Hopefully all the fun at school made up for the miserable Trick-Or-Treat night.
All Saints Day Thank You
Thank you for everyone’s hard work in making the All Saints Day Mass and Wax Museum possible. Thank you for helping research your child’s Saint, creating and providing a costume, practicing speeches, providing refreshments, attending Mass, and participating in our Saint Wax Museum. The students had a blast and talked about it ALL DAY FRIDAY!
Producers, Consumers, Oh My!
All students have been working hard on an in class project. Students were assigned a specific habitat from which they had to create a food chain. All food chains had to include a producer and several consumers. Students then had to research their producer and a consumer, from their self-created food chain, and describe two adaptations it has for survival. We will use these food chains on Monday in Maple Park for game of Food Chain Tag.
Don’t forget about our field trip to Maple Park on Monday, November 4th. We will be departing after lunch, about 12:30 and returning to SFX around 2:00. This is a uniform day, but we suggest dressing in layers. We will be outdoors for about 1 ½ hours, walking to the park and then running a lot! Children are encouraged to bring and carry a water bottle along with them.
Uniform vests or other Dennis fleeces/sweaters with an SFX logo are a required part of our school uniform every day between November 15-April 15. (Please note that girls who wear uniform jumpers are not required to wear logo sweaters.) Sweatshirt hoodies do not count as a fleece or sweater. After April 15, we will return to a Mass-day only policy for logo vests/sweaters. Please note that only solid white, navy, black or red tights and leggings are permitted under jumpers and skirts (no patterns or alternate colors, please). Thank you!
