Hi 4S Families!
Wednesday December 19 – 4S Math Test
Thursday December 20 – Follow The Star/1:45 Dismissal
Check out our new math blog: 4th Grade Math Update
We continue learning about our Solar System! Each student has been assigned to a group with his/her “planet” to research. This week, each group created a drawing of their planet, relative to size, and is displayed outside our classroom! In addition, we learned about Perihelion, Aphelion, Light Year and much more! Students continue to add to their Science Binder weekly vocabulary words along with their Science Activities. Students should have their vocabulary pages and activity sheets completed, and in order, to receive full credit.
We are finishing up our nonfiction books in our Reading Groups! Students are asked to summarize their book when they have read the last chapter. I am so excited to see how each student presents their summary. You can always help support this by asking your student to summarize or retell what they have read each night. Please have your student read atleast 30 minutes per evening.
After given the choice of a favorite person, place, or object, all students have chosen one for their upcoming thesis statement. Ask your student what/whom they are writing about! In addition, grammar is implemented twice weekly with a quiz each Friday. This week, we continue learning about grammatical rules on how and when to use conjunctions. WTW assignments are given each Monday and must be completed and turned in by Friday. All work is in-class work only and can impact their grade positively if all work is turned in on time with completion accuracy.
We are learning more about Advent and this special time of year. We also discussed how we can be a shining light in the world, by showing kindness. I appreciate your support in this!
Have a Super Weekend!
