What a busy week! Even though it was only four days we packed in plenty of learning fun.
During math, we have moved on to our second math books! We have many math vocabulary words that we have perfected this past week; circle, square, cube, hexagon, triangle, and cone. Our number sense has grown as our sets objects are moving beyond 10!
Our Reading Muscles were sore this week as we looked towards the ends of words as we read! We helped each other use letter-sound power to read unknown words! This helped when learning during math too! We were able to sound out the difference between…Cone or Cube?! “I see and hear an X in HeXagon!
Our How-To books have been hilarious to act out and read! Our Shared Writing experience was “How To make a sun-butter sandwich”. We revised our first edition by ‘tucking tips’ into our HOW TO writing to make it easier! “Open the jelly jar.” “Be careful not to drop the bread!’ Our K’s were able to bring their expertise to the classroom and we discovered many hidden talents of your young writers! ‘How To Shoot a Goal’ ‘How To Bey Blade Battle’ and “How To Babysit My Sister” were among the writer’s titles!
During Science class, we wrote a Valentine to our hearts, our most important organ! We learned that our hearts are as big as our fists and ways to feel our hearts after we ran in place for 60 seconds! We found our pulses and counted the beats!
During Religion, we talked about miracles! We also talked about forgiveness. We shared and listened to each other’s miracle moments. We also talked about forgiving others and the feeling of being forgiven. We pray for each other and all of our families every morning in prayer circle. We hope you feel it!!
