Dear Kindergarten Parents,
Please be reminded that our field trip to Kroll’s Farm is this Friday! Students should wear uniforms and appropriate outer-wear for the weather, including mittens, hats, boots, if needed. Please send your child to school with a 100% disposable lunch, including beverage containers. Let’s hope for a beautiful day!
This Wednesday is October Birthday Dress Down Day!
A BUSY four day week!
In our Math in Focus curriculum, we have been providing adequate time for mastery in all ways to show, count, match, and pair the numbers 0-9. We have been using games, slates, number lines, etc to pair up sets of objects one to one with other sets of the same quantity. Next week, we are excited that our PUMPKIN season will provide the perfect backdrop to our children’s first exposure to size, length and weight during math lessons!
In our Reading Units, we have been taking extra time out to talk like the characters. We use poetry and drama and our teacher read alouds as examples. We use our super powers and unleash your children’s superpowers to LOOK, POINT, AND READ EVERYTHING! Pointer Power is very imPorant!!!!!!!
Our Super Readers are also the BRAVEST writers we’ve seen since June. They are brave spellers that stretch out the words. They are working on telling true stories since we know the most about those! We even practiced those reading super powers from above and BRAVELY re-read and even REVISED when we saw a tiny mistake.
Reminders-Please send your child to school with a warm coat, hat and gloves daily. We sometimes head outside to play early in the day. UGH! It is chilly out there in the morning already!
We are Bucket Fillers! We learned how to tell how other people are feeling by looking for clues on their faces and bodies. We learn how to fill someone else’s bucket with compliments and including everyone. We are becoming the most kind Crusaders!
We sang and danced in Music with Mrs. Chada. We practiced ‘Somebody’s Knocking On Our Door’ which we love to sing at church on Tuesdays with our big 8th grade buddies.
We had a blast running and playing ball on the field. Mr. Carlson, our gym coach, led us in several rounds of Number Soccer! We also had some sunny days to play in the sand, climb, and slide down surfaces in the Tot Lot.
Have a fabulous week!
