Weekly Update 6/3-6/10
Throughout the last week of school there was so much fun and excitement! We colored treat bags, we wore our homemade binoculars out on a nature hunt around the SFX campus and looked for worms, birds, butterflies, squirrels, and anything else we could find! We were busy preparing our Father’s Day gifts, we colored end of the year self portraits and painted handprints. We also prepared for summer vacation by going over the Scholastic Clifford’s Big World- teaching all about sun safety! We discussed the importance of wearing sunscreen every day, wearing hats, sunglasses, staying in the shade, taking breaks, and drinking tons of water!
We were able to celebrate both Walter and Patrick’s Birthdays, and we heard two stories, The Dreamer and Three Grumpy Trucks! We had an extra special treat, received goodie bags, and sang Happy Birthday. Thank you for celebrating with us!!
We watched an end of the year slideshow on the classroom projector on our last day- full of pictures showing all the fun and friendships that have formed over the course of our year together! We then ended our school year with the musical performance and our outdoor popsicle party with the best family and friends!
In Library we heard the story I’m in Charge, we watched a felt story all about farm animals sharing a hat with a bumble bee hiding inside! Then we heard a puppet show from Mrs. dos Santos about a little girl collecting flowers in the jungle. She kept going farther and father creating her bouquet until she was deep into the jungle and ran into a wolf! The wolf tried to follow her home until she sang to him and he fell fast asleep.
In Music we prepared for our performance! We practiced ‘I’ve got the Joy Joy Joy,’ ‘This Little Light of Mine,’ ‘God Be With You,’ and ‘We are Flowers Growing in God’s Garden.’ We hope you enjoyed it!
In Spanish we had a fiesta (party) !! We sang songs and danced with Señora Rocha.
