FAN connects parents, educators and professionals through collaborative programming that educates, inspires and positively impacts the broader community. The group promotes positive and actionable messages for parents of preschool through high school aged children. SFX is a proud partner of the Family Action Network, a local resource for thought-leadership and inspiring content for our parent community. FAN may not be able to provide access to moving, in-person presentations and speakers during this time of e-learning, but it continues to provide resources our parents will find transformational. Please note the following updates from FAN as you seek tools and content to keep you connected and motivated from home:
- FAN presents a webinar entitled “Managing Stress, Anxiety, and Parenting Under Covid-19” on Tuesday, May 5th at 7pm. This presentation is led by New York Times Columnist and Psychologist/Teacher Lisa Damour, PhD. Learn more here and register to attend this webinar here. While the webinar is free, advance registration is required.
- “FANzine” seeks submissions from children and young adults (up to age 25) to the prompt, “Tell us, show us: What’s on your mind?” Entries may be photography, essays of 450 words or less, poems, playlists, drawings and more. Collaborations with multiple children are welcome. The grand prize is publication in FANzine and a $100 cash reward. Submissions are due no later than May 14th to firstname.lastname@example.org.
