Please refer to the links below for a selection of optional, enriching summer reading resources for all Crusaders. In particular, we invite you to review the link below regarding our Reading Without Walls Summer Reading program. Students who complete our summer reading bingo board will be treated to a Summer Reading picnic in September. Students who complete each and every item on the board will win a dress down day! Incoming K-8 students who complete a summer reading club through their public library are invited to bring in their certificates of completion at the start of school and are also invited to take part in our September picnic.

WILMETTE PUBLIC LIBRARY
Prereaders and independent readers through grade 9 should sign up for the library’s Summer Reading program between Tuesday, May 30th and Monday, July 31st. Read at least 20 minutes a day on 20 different days to earn a free book and entry into a prize drawing. A kickoff party takes place on June 15 at 6pm. Learn more here.
HALF PRICED BOOKS
Download and use this reading log, add up your minutes and have your parent or guardian initial each week. Once you’ve reached 300 or more minutes, bring your log to your local HPB to claim your Bookworm Bucks on or before August 31st. Learn more here.
BARNES AND NOBLE
The Barnes & Noble Summer Reading program encourages students to read books of their own choosing to earn a FREE book! Learn more here. Follow these three easy steps:
- Read any eight books this summer and record them in your Summer Reading Journal (English or Español). Tell us which part of the book is your favorite, and why.
- Bring your completed journal to a Barnes & Noble store between May 16th and September 5th, 2017. Find a Store
- Choose your FREE reading adventure from the book list featured on the back of the journal.
CHUCK E CHEESE
Chuck E. Cheese hosts a reading program where kids can earn 10 free Chuck E. Cheese tokens for reading each day for 2 weeks. Learn more here.
The Meatheads Summer Reading program is open to kids ages 13 and under. Read five books to earn a Lil’ Meathead burger! A parent or guardian signature is required to earn each reward. Download their voracious reading certificate here to get started.
